Former Joplin Eagles standout Isaiah Davis drafted by NFL’s New York Jets

Former Joplin Eagle standout player Isaiah Davis was drafted by the New York Jets on Saturday.

Davis, who played college football at South Dakota State, was the 173rd overall pick in the draft.

During his time as a Joplin Eagle, Davis helped take the team to the Class 6 State Championship game.  He was selected at Gatorade player of the year in the Show-Me State.

As  South Dakota State Jackrabbit, he had 18 touchdowns and 1,578 rush yards in the most recent season.

The team won the national championship two years running.
