Update: Neosho Issues Boil Water Advisory

UPDATE:

The water leak has been found and the water towers are slowly starting to refill in Neosho after the city issued a mandatory water conservation notice this morning. The city has lifted that conservation notice and has now issued a boil advisory for the next 24 hours as a precaution due to low water pressure to make sure your water is clean of any contaminates. Around 5 o’clock Thursday night, a water main broke and crews were unable to find the source of the leak until Friday morning. Neosho Schools were cancelled today due to the water issue.

If you live in Neosho, you need to conserve your water. The City has issued a mandatory water conservation notice, so all nonessential water use is prohibited at this time due to a transmission line leak in the water tower.

The Public Works Department is working as quickly as they can to fix the problem.
