Pittsburg State University Offering New Master’s Degree in Social Work
With the growing demand for social workers, PSU is now offering a Master’s degree in Social Work. Social work professionals address many social problems, from mental health, to poverty, homelessness, and substance abuse. The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the social work field to grow by 11 percent in the coming years, with more than 81,000 new job opportunities.
In order to get the degree; students will complete a one-year program if they already have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or they will complete a two-year program if they have a Bachelor’s degree in something else. The first year of the two-year program will be the generalist year, with clinical experience coming the year following.
