IRS seizes two commercial properties in Granby

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office assisted Federal Agents from the IRS in seizing two commercial properties in Granby Tuesday morning.

Jackson Family Tire, located at 569 West Valley, and Ed’s Auto Body, located at 144 West Valley were seized.

The buildings were put up for sale at a public auction.

According to the IRS, the properties were to be sold due to foreclosure on a Federal Tax Lien by the Department of Justice.

Agents visited other properties but it’s not clear if items on those properties were also seized to pay additional debt or if customer belongings were simply moved out of the way before the sale.
