Ashcroft on how choosing a presidential candidate will be different in Missouri this year

Missourians will find the task of choosing a presidential candidate VERY different this year. 

Republicans will be holding caucuses across the state, the same as Iowa Republicans did on Monday. 

Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft says those who take part will decide as a group who Missouri’s delegates will cast their votes for: 

“It probably will take a couple of hours, it depends on turnout, depends on how verbose people are. I kind of like to think of it as just old school democracy – civic participation – and it really requires people to put thought into it and think and self-educate.” 

The Republican caucus will be held March 2nd at numerous locations across Missouri. 

Democrats, meanwhile, will be holding a mail-in presidential primary on March 23rd, with limited in-person voting in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas. 

Libertarians will be holding a convention in St. Louis County on February 24th.
