Big performances come to Joplin in the month of January
Joplin, Missouri – Connect2Culture will host two performances this month at the Beshore Performance Hall inside the Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex (212 West 7 th Street, Joplin, MO 64801). January will include a beloved pianist from Joplin as well as a husband-and-wife duo who create bilingual music for kids and their families.
“We can’t think of a better way to start 2024 than with high-quality, live entertainment,” says Emily Frankoski, Executive Director of Connect2Culture (C2C). “If you have not attended a C2C performance, there’s never been a better time to do so!”
Joplin’s own Glenda Austin returns to the Cornell Complex for another incredible performance. A recognized composer, life-long pianist, and a celebrated educator, Austin has dedicated her life to music. From well-loved hymns and light classical music to original compositions and classic oldies, Austin’s compelling and lively style makes each performance an extraordinary experience as she plays some of Broadway’s most popular songs!
123 Andrés is a Latin GRAMMY-winning husband-and-wife duo who creates music for the whole family. The group is comprised of Andrés Salguero and Christina Sanabria, who have been deeply immersed in performing arts since childhood. After playing guitar at an early age, Andrés went on to earn a Doctorate in music and win the National Composition Contest in Colombia. Christina fell in love with theater and dance as a child, and later applied these passions to childhood education as a teacher. Now, the two perform in Spanish and English, creating catchy songs and lively performances that encourage audiences to dance, sing, and learn!
