Saturday night accident injures woman from Joplin

An accident that took place at 9:15 Saturday night on County Road 200 at Ivy Road, about two miles east of Oronogo, resulted in injuries to a woman from Joplin.

The Missouri State Highway accident report says the wreck occurred when a southbound passenger car driven by 50-year-old Mamie L. Borres traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a MoDOT sign, a barbed wire fence and a rock bluff.

Borries, who was wearing a safety device, suffered moderate injuries.

She was transported to a hospital in Joplin.
