Car crashes into roundabout late Friday night; driver transported to local hospital

There was a crash late Friday night, around 11:30 at the 30th and South Main roundabout in Joplin in Newton County.

Multiple agencies responded.

The accident reportedly involved a passenger car that was traveling south at an extremely high rate of speed when it crashed into and then went over the roundabout.

The driver of the car reportedly was transported to a local hospital.

There was a passenger in the car who did not require an ambulance.

Authorities are reportedly investigating a D.W.I.
