Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity receives $10,000 grant from U.S. Bank Foundation
Joplin, MO – Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that partners with the community to improve housing affordability, has received a $10,000 grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation.
The grant will be used in the Habitat house construction program in which low income families who qualify work to build their homes and in the end the homes are sold at no profit and at a 0% interest rate.
“Creating equitable opportunities for our community requires resources, and we appreciate support from the U.S. Bank Foundation, which helps us continue to build and expand our housing programs,” said Scott Clayton, Executive Director.
“Safe and stable housing help children, families and communities thrive. Working with Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity helps in several ways – creates access to affordable housing, helps homebuyers gain financial knowledge and tools to own and maintain a home, and incorporates energy-efficient features into housing. All of these aspects are investments that will be beneficial for generations to come,” Kristen Polchinski, Community Affairs Manager for U.S. Bank.
