Accident involving school bus near Springfield results in fatal injuries

A crash on Missouri 266 one mile west of Springfield around 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon resulted in a death of a female juvenile driver

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Harold Budnovich of Springfield pulled into the path of school bus driven by 52-year-old Katherine G. Lopez of Williard.

The school bus then then struck a passenger car driven by a 17-year-old female juvenile.

The juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene.

Budnovich was seriously injured and Lopez suffered minor injuries.

They were taken to hospitals in Springfield.
