“Pipe Bursting” to be done in Monett, Mo
Road work to be done in Monett, Missouri along Missouri Route 37 (Central Avenue) between Cale Street and Broadway Street. Work starts on December 12th at 7 a.m. and will continue until completion.
Contractor crews are replacing sewer pipes underneath the road. The City is having a technology called ‘pipe bursting’ done to replace the pipe. This consists of running a tool through the pipe, bursting it, and widening the hole, then pulling pipe back through which will allow for a quicker project as only the manhole locations and sewer services for houses will have to be dug up.
Bennett, Inc. of Lamar won the bid to do the work which is in advance of the Central Avenue upgrade. There will be changeable message boards located throughout the area with information on the closing. Detour signing will be set for Rte. 37 for through traffic. There will not be detours on City streets, local traffic will need to be aware and find alternate streets to get around this area.
