Petition filed in Oklahoma to raise state minimum wage to $15 by 2029
The effort is on to raise wages for some workers in the Sooner State.
A recently-filed petition would raise the state minimum wage to $15 per hour by the year 2029.
Employers would initially be required to pay $10.50 per hour beginning in 2026, $12 per hour beginning in 2027, and $13.50 per hour beginning in 2028.
The proposition states that starting in 2030, the minimum wage would increase yearly based on the increase in the cost of living as measured by the U.S. Department of Labor.
