Remember to change carbon monoxide detector batteries
Change those batteries in your carbon monoxide detector if you haven’t yet – it can save your life.
Carbon monoxide is a deadly, colorless, and odorless gas.
Cathy Wood with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services says that it can poison both people and animals who breathe it…
Wood went on to say: “Especially if you’re sleeping when a carbon monoxide leak occurs, you may not wake up from that. So that makes having working carbon monoxide alarms that much more important. Especially you want to make sure they are outside the sleeping areas so you will wake up if there is a leak in your home.”
She says everyone is at risk for carbon monoxide poisoning.
It deprives the heart, brain, and other vital organs of oxygen.
