Joplin’s 36th annual Veterans Day Parade
American Legion Post 13 will host Joplin’s 36th annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 11th.The parade will have marching bands, vintage cars, service vehicles, flag and drill teams, and veterans. The Grand Marshalls for this year’s parade are Korean War Veteran Ralph Green and Vietnam War Veteran Todd Thompson, both served in the United States Navy.
American Legion Post 13 invites you to come out and enjoy the parade, wave a flag, and salute the veterans of our families and community.
The City of Joplin reminds citizens that Main Street and Joplin Street will be closed that morning for the parade. Main Street and Joplin Street will reopen by noon on Saturday.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. at 15th Street & Main and moves north to 3rd Street, turning west, and continuing onto Joplin Avenue, heading south to the City Hall parking lots between 5th and 7th Streets.
Travelers are encouraged to be extra cautious during this event. If needing to cross Main Street, drivers should plan spare travel time to reach the far south or north end of the roads.
