Hawley provides update on passport delays
As some Missourians prepare to travel abroad for the upcoming holiday season, there continues to be delays in getting passports processed.
U-S Senator Josh Hawley tells Newstalk KZRG that his office is trying to speed up the passport requests for travelers.
Hawley said: “We continue to help anybody and everybody who needs a passport. And I just say (to) anybody listening to this, seeing this, if you need a passport or some of your family does please contact us. What we’ve seen are reports of delays in our state and around the country, frankly.”
Other members of Missouri’s congressional delegation have reported increases of up to 40 percent in requests for expedited passports.
The U.S. State Department says it has been working to reduce the backlog of requests.
