14 Jasper County Sex Offenders were non-compliant on Halloween

On October 31, 2023, the Jasper County Sherriff’s Office along with local municipalities, conducted the annual Halloween Sex Offender Compliance checks.

Jasper County has 160 offenders, out of the registered 359, that are required to comply with the Halloween registration regulations: During the course of these checks, 157 offenders were checked: 143 offenders were in compliance with all of the requirements. 14 offenders were non compliant, several of whom already have active warrants for their arrest. 14 charges were submitted for non compliant offenders, along with 2 offenders who were taken into custody.

Jasper County is currently among the leaders in the state for Sex Offender Registration compliance with 1.1% non-compliant offenders compared to the state average of 9.2% non- compliant rating. Of the 1.1% non-compliant offenders in Jasper County charges have been submitted and warrants issued for the arrest of the offenders who are non-compliant.
