Drought conditions worsen in Missouri
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor map is out with what Missouri is experiencing.
Drought conditions in Missouri worsened with more than 86% of the state experiencing some level of dryness from abnormally dry to extreme drought.
10% of the state is still under extreme drought, same as it was last week.
Severe drought expanded by 2%, and moderate drought expanded by 4%.
A majority of southwest Missouri is not experiencing any sort of dry conditions, while extreme drought has been relegated to parts of central and west central, and one county in northeast Missouri.
Over 4.1 million people in Missouri are living under drought conditions currently.
The drought is expected to continue through at least December.
