Special House committee to hold hearings on St. Louis & Kansas City’s earnings taxes
A Special House committee will be holding hearings in Kansas City and St. Louis.
Missouri lawmakers are scrutinizing a one-percent earnings taxes levied on residents of both St. Louis and Kansas City.
The House Special Interim Committee on the Earnings Tax has scheduled two public hearings on how the tax affects remote workers — those who don’t live in either city but whose employers are based there and thus have to pay the tax.
The first hearing is set for October 30th in St. Louis at St. Louis Community College, and the second for November 7th in Kansas City at Union Station.
