Missouri’s mission to Japan is set for takeoff this week
Missouri’s mission to Japan is set for takeoff this week.
Governor Mike Parson and First Lady Teresa Parson are scheduled to leave Saturday in hopes of boosting the Show Me State’s trade relationship with Japan.
The governor says expanding meat exports will be a priority discussion.
“Whether that’s beef, pork, chicken, whatever you want, whichever we will send over there, but the point I’m trying to make is more opportunity for Missouri because we know we sell some of the best products in the United States,” says Parson.
Parson’s office says Japan had more than 455-million dollars in exports last year, with processed foods, chemicals, and electronic products among those in highest demand.
