Charges to be upgraded to first degree murder in McDonald County

The McDonald County prosecutor says she has new information that will allow charges of first degree murder to be filed against 49-year-old Dawn Renee Wynn.

Wynn is accused of shooting her husband, Harold Lee Wynn, while he slept in November 2021.

The prosecutor made the announcement at a hearing Monday in McDonald County Court..

Dawn Wynn went missing after being released on bail in McDonald County in April 2022.

She was taken into custody six months later in the State of Indiana.
