Driver injured in Lawrence County accident

A one-vehicle accident late Tuesday night has injured a driver from southwest Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Sean C. Lockmon of Ash Grove was driving on Route N, about 4 miles east of of Mt. Vernon in Lawrence County, around 11:50 Tuesday night when his car went out of control and  struck an embankment.

The Patrol says he was not wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.

Lockmon suffered serious injuries.

He was taken to Cox South hospital in Springfield.
