Missouri Democrats want to allow 17-year-olds to vote in presidential primary

Some 17-year-olds in Missouri may get to vote in next year’s Democratic presidential primary. 

The only condition would be that teens wanting to vote would have to turn 18 before next year’s November general election. 

The primary is scheduled for March 23rd and will be run by the Democratic Party, not by the state. 

That’s because the legislature and the governor approved a bill two years ago eliminating the state-run presidential primaries. 

An effort to revive them failed during this year’s session.
