Extreme heat stressing Missouri’s power grid
Missouri’s power grid is being heavily exhausted from the entire state being under an Excessive Heat Warning.
Triple-digit heat and heat indexes are making the temperature feel like it’s 115-degrees outside.
Scott Rupp, Chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission says power companies have been looking to today to be the biggest drain on the system with the amount of energy that’s needed.
He reassures Missourians that there should be enough resources to make sure there are no brownouts or blackouts.
Utility companies are importing power from other regions of the U.S. to offset an already stressed power grid.
