Kansas City resident Morrison announces run for Governor
Kansas City resident Eric D. Morrison, Pastor of Kingdom Word Ministries, announced today that he will run for Governor of the State of Missouri.
“Now is the time for new leadership in our state to step up to the challenge of leading and caring for the needs of all Missourians,” Morrison said.
Morrison plans to run on the platform of creating a better economic, public safety, healthcare, and education system in the State of Missouri.
He will officially make his announcement on Thursday morning in Jefferson City.
“I care for our State, and I hope that all of Missouri will join me in my quest to create a fair, successful, and more equitable state that provides equal access to all government services for the greater good,” said Morrison.
Morrison has served as Pastor of Kingdom Word Ministries, formerly Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church, for nearly 23 years.
He has earned degrees in Biblical Studies, Christian Education, and Pastoral Theology from Western Baptist Bible College and Heart of America Theological Seminary,
Morrison serves as President of the Ecumenical Leadership Council of Missouri – Kansas City Chapter and works with the Concerned Clergy Alliance. He is also a member of the Urban Summit, a collective group of civil rights organizations dedicated to achieving equality and equity in neighboring communities.
Morrison’s church is also a part of the Harvester Community Food Network, distributing food to nearly 1,000 people per month in the Kansas City Area.
