The Quapaw Nation of Oklahoma is soliciting proposals for financial audit and legal review services.
This request for proposal (RFP) is to engage a professional services firm to review legal and financial records of the Quapaw Nation of Oklahoma concerning the distribution of funds derived from legal cases.
It concerns the distribution of funds derived from the settlement of the Grace M. Goodeagle, et al. v. United States, Quapaw Nation v. United States, and Thomas Charles Bear, et al. v. United States cases.
The funds ultimately could be paid out in significant amounts to all 5,300 individual Quapaw tribal members.
The payouts could come to many thousands of dollars per member.
The successful bidder will be entrusted to investigate the allocation of the settlement amounts and communications to individual Quapaw tribal members regarding the allocation settlement funds to said Quapaw Nation tribal members, articulate the formulae utilized to arrive at the amount of such individual distributions and handle other duties.
Firms submitting a proposal must have attorneys and accountants currently licensed in Oklahoma and must maintain an office in Oklahoma for firms including such attorneys.
Proposals must be submitted no later that 5 p.m. on August 18, 2023.
