Get ready for the Juneteenth Holiday weekend

The Juneteenth holiday is almost upon us.

Emancipation Golf scramble kicks off the Saturday morning activities.

A 5k Celebration walk/run, a centralized EastTown parade, and a 3 on 3 basketball tournament are planned. Black business expo late afternoon into evening. Live entertainment from evening until midnight.

The Saturday 1-mile fun walk/run with educational stops along the way, a scavenger hunt for historical artifacts relating to Juneteenth, various games, and challenges with prizes will be held. There will also be arts included and a chance for youth to portray legacy leaders.

Sunday will have a soul food fest with a per plate charge and jazzy easy listening to winddown and close out Juneteenth weekend.

The Juneteenth Federal Holiday will be celebrated on Monday, June 19th.
