Marijuana expungement in Missouri
The smoke is clearing for marijuana in Missouri.
Thursday was the deadline for misdemeanor marijuana cases to be expunged in Missouri.
As part of Amendment 3, which was approved by Missouri voters in November, certain, non-violent marijuana offenses would be expunged.
This means that residents incarcerated for marijuana convictions, including past offenses and Class E and D felonies involving possession of under 3 pounds can ask for their sentence to be vacated.
Over 40,000 cases have been expunged across the state thus far.
