Missouri will carry out Tuesday’s scheduled execution of convicted killer

Today’s scheduled execution will proceed.

Governor Mike Parson will not block this evening’s scheduled execution of Michael Tisius.

In a written statement, the governor says, “Missouri’s judicial system provided Mr. Tisius with due process and fair proceedings for his brutal murders of two Randolph County jail guards.”

The 42-year-old Tisius was convicted in the killings of the jail workers in a plot to break out an inmate in 2000.

The U.S. Supreme Court has also denied the inmate’s request to block the execution.

Tisius is scheduled to die by lethal injection as early as 6 p.m. this evening at the state prison in Bonne Terre.
