Special program at Miners Hall Museum: The Founding of McCune
A special program on the founding of McCune, Kansas will be presented at Miners Hall Museum in at 701 S. Broadway in Franklin, Kan. this Sunday, May 21 at 2 p.m. .
McCune, a town of about 400 people in Crawford County, was incorporated as a city in 1881.
The grain elevator, the centerpiece of McCune since its early days, still stands.
The presenter will be Kent Smith who has close ties to the community.
This special program is being presented in conjunction with the quarterly exhibit “Little Balkans Coal Camp – McCune ” which is hosted by Morgan Blanchard-Zimmer and Dick Rauniker. The program begins at 2 p.m. (doors open at 1:30 p.m.) and admission is free.
