Lights, Camera, Action! MO Legislature passes tax credits for film and music industries
Missouri’s film tax credit program expired in 2013 but the state wants to restart the program.
The Missouri Legislature has passed tax credits for the film and music industries.
State Representative Kurtis Gregory, a Republican from Marshall, carried the bill in the House.
“It’s going to be another tool in the tool belt for the economic development office,” says Gregory. “There’s been a lot of work put in over many years to try and bring this back to the State of Missouri. Since we’re on a lot of fun lines here, I’m just ready for the day when we can say Lights, Camera, Action.”
Jeremy Cady, with Americans for Prosperity, has said the government should not incentivize one industry over another. The bill is awaiting a decision from the governor.
