Oklahoma AG says he has no power to delay Busick’s release
Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond says there is nothing he can do to keep Ronnie Dean Busick in jail.
Busick was sentenced to ten years in jail in connection with the murders of teenagers Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman and the deaths of Freeman’s parents back in 1999.
He’s set to be released on good behavior on May 19th.
In a letter to the Bible and Freeman families, Drummond said he doesn’t possess the legal authority to delay Busick’s release from prison.
He said in his opinion anyone convicted as an accessory to murder, as Busick was, should be required to serve at least 85 percent of their sentence.
