Oklahoma Representative speaks out against Busick release
There was pushback this week on the Oklahoma Dept. of Correction’s decision to release Ronnie Dean Busick who was convicted of accessory to felony murder in the deaths of two Welch, Oklahoma teenagers, Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible, back in 1999.
Oklahoma Rep. Steve Bashore said in a statement Monday the teens’ families were caught completely off guard by the state’s announcement and only learned about it through the news media.
He called Busick’s planned release on May 19th “horrific for the families and an “absolute travesty.”
Lauria Bible’s aunt, Lisa Bible Broderick, says she wants people to contact Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, to ask him to intervene and keep Busick in prison.
