Eight Pro-Life Bills Filed in Missouri Legislature
“Here in Missouri, we’re showing a message that we believe in life.”
Eight pro-life bills have been filed in the Missouri Legislature at a time when more states are championing radical pro-choice bills. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill into law last week permitting third trimester abortion, and Virginia Governor Ralph Northam also said he would support the same right in his state. Neosho State Representative Ben Baker tells News Talk KZRG he’s confident we’ll never see such a bill pass in Missouri.
“The democrats may offer some things, if it went to committee it would surprise me, but if it went to committee it would probably die in committee. I feel safe in saying that anything that comes out of the Missouri legislature will be pro-life.”
Baker is co-sponsoring two of the pro-life bills. House Bill 126, sponsored by Rep. Nick Schroer, would require the use of a fetal heartbeat detection test prior to an abortion and prohibit an abortion if a fetal heartbeat is detected.
He’s also co-sponsoring House Bill 339 with Rep. Adam Schnelting, which would establish the “Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act”. Read more about it here.
