Musical opportunities abound at PSU this week
Pittsburg State will be replete with musical opportunities in the next few weeks.
There’ll be two performances on this week.
Tuesday night will feature a modern Paraguayan Jazz recital will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Sharon K. Dean Recital Hall in McCray Hall, home to the Pitt State Music Department.
It will feature guest artists Dani Ayala and Ramiro Miranda. This event is funded by a grant from the Kansas Paraguay Partners.
Then on Thursday night the PSU Wind Ensemble will hold a concert at the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, 1711 S. Homer, starting at 7 p.m.
The concert will feature some of the most talented wind and percussion players in the department, including Concerto and Aria Competition winner Denton Bodine in Eric Ewazen’s epic Concerto for Euphonium and Wind Ensemble, Viet Cuong’s innovative concerto for percussion quartet, and a tribute to a beloved pet.
Both concerts are free and open to the public.
