Saturday evening accident injures woman from Carthage

A crash in the eastbound lanes of I-44 near the 18-mile marker just after 5 p.m. Saturday resulted in injuries to a woman from Carthage.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when an eastbound 2016 Nissan Titan driven by 37-year-old Yuli Lopez Ramirez of Green Forest, Arkansas was attempting to merge onto I-44 while an eastbound 2010 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 19-year-old Morgan A. Frisinger of Carthage was attempting to exit the Interstate.

The Ramirez vehicle struck the rear of the Frisinger vehicle.

After impact Frisinger’s vehicle struck the guardrail.

Frisinger suffered moderate injuries.

She was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Carthage Hospital.
