Kansas Against Gun Violence to stage rally April 29th
The group Kansans Against Gun Violence will stage a rally for common sense gun law reform
on Saturday, April 29th at 1 pm.
The event will take place at Immigrant Park/Pritchett Pavilion at 106 W. 2nd Street in Pittsburg, KS.
The rally will introduce the concept of: 3 Every 3. A campaign to encourage all concerned citizens to undertake 3 actions every 3 days to bring gun violence to an end.
Actions include making your position known to elected officials by calling or writing them. Interested parties are also encouraged to become registered voters and actively seek out and support candidates who will support increased gun legislation reform and banning assault weapons.
A short protest march will occur after the rally and end at the Miners Memorial located at 200 N. Walnut Street in Pittsburg, KS. Participants are encouraged to bring signs expressing their feelings regarding the current state of gun violence in the United States.
The rally will conclude with a brief “die in” at the Miners Memorial. The “die in” will feature participants of the protest march lying on the ground to simulate being gunned down to bring attention to the ever growing number of Americans killed daily in gun violence.
