Joplin Chamber of Commerce reaccredited as a 5-Star Chamber
Joplin, MO — The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce (JACC) is proud to announce that they have been reaccredited as a 5-Star chamber by the United States Chamber of Commerce. Accredited chambers are rated on a three-to-five-star scale. An accrediting board from the U.S. Chamber reviews each application and designates ratings based on this system. JACC has been accredited by the US Chamber since 1982, meaning it meets the highest standards set forth by the U.S. Chamber.
“Accreditation is a tremendous accomplishment,” says Raymond P. Towle, U.S. Chamber Vice President, Federation Relations and IOM. “Earning this prestigious designation sets chambers apart in the industry and shines a light on the impactful work this organization is doing on behalf of its members and local business community.”
To meet accreditation requirements, a chamber must comply with minimum standards in its operations and programs. This involves completing an extensive self-review every five years, evaluating various areas like governance, finance, communications, and more. This process allows for the U.S. Chamber, JACC staff and Board members, and community volunteers to offer valuable input that enhances the Chamber’s programming, processes, and resources so that the Joplin Chamber can better serve its membership.
“Ultimately, this is an assurance to our members and community that we are adhering to a system of best practices and nationally defined professional standards,” says Travis Stephens, JACC President and CEO. “There are 7,200 chambers in the nation. We are proud to be one of 137 to be recognized as a 5-Star chamber, and one of only five in the state of Missouri.”
The Joplin Chamber would like to thank all the Chamber staff, Board members, and community volunteers who helped complete the application process.
