Carthage man arrested in Galena for attempted vehicle burglaries, fentanyl possession
A 19-year-old from Carthage was arrested in Galena, Kansas, Wednesday morning after he allegedly tried to burglarize multiple vehicles. Read more from the Galena Police Department below:
On Wednesday, March 1, at 7:30am, Galena Police officers were dispatched to the area of 4th and Main Street in reference a male subject attempting to get into vehicles.
Video footage was collected and the suspect was located at Casey’s. During questioning, the male fled on foot, and after a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody. It was also found the suspect had stolen items while inside Casey’s earlier in the morning.
19-year-old Hunter Parman, of Carthage, Missouri, is currently being held in the Cherokee County Jail for two counts of Attempted Burglary of a Vehicle, Theft, and Interference with Law Enforcement. Additionally, once at the jail, Parman was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and fentanyl.
Additional charges of possession of controlled substance, possession of Paraphernalia, and Trafficking Drugs into a Correctional Facility are being submitted. He’s being held on $24,000 bond.
Police also gave thanks to a Galena Volunteer Fire Department Fireman who assisted in taking Parman into custody.
