Warning issued about Southwest Missouri business
A consumer protection warning has been issued about a southwest Missouri company. That’s according to Stephanie Garland of the Springfield Better Business Bureau. Garland says over 160 complaints have been received about Maker Geeks, a 3-D printer filament company. The company is based in Springfield. She says of those complaints, about 120 have been received in the last year. Customers have complained that the company had failed to deliver paid-for products, filled orders with the wrong product(s) and refused to make refunds. Garland says complaints have come in from all over the state regarding the “niche” company, including one from Sarcoxie in Southwest Missouri. The company has an “F” rating, the lowest on the BBB scale, due to unanswered complaints by the company. “The Better Business Bureau wants you, the consumer, to use extreme caution when dealing with Maker Geeks,” Garland says. She says if you’ve been a victim and you can’t get your money back, contact the Springfield Better Business Bureau or the Missouri Attorney General’s office. Attorney General Eric Schmitt encourages consumers to file complaints with his office so he can mediate complaints when possible, investigate scams, and take legal action when necessary to protect consumers who conduct business in Missouri. Consumers can register complaints by calling the toll-free number, 800-392-8222, contact the Missouri Attorney General’s office online, or online, or contact the office. by mail at P.O. Box 899, Jefferson City, Mo., 65102.
