Drugs in a Park
Imagine you’re walking on the Wildcat Glades path and you come across, open syringes, pills, baggies and a spoon. Well that’s what happened this morning as one KZRG listener was taking his morning walk.
“You couldn’t miss it. I mean its right in the middle of the trail right under Reddings Mill Bridge on the south side. “
The problem only got intensified from there. When our listener called the Newton County Sheriff’s office, they told the concerned citizen that it wasn’t “their jurisdiction” and transferred him to the Joplin Police Department. Unfortunately, JPD isn’t responsible for the area either. They, however, agreed to meet the walker and take possession of the dangerous materials.
This all begs the question, whose responsibility is it to patrol that area and how bad is the drug problem in the 4-states and on a walking path for designed for families.
We are continuing to investigate this developing story and will bring you details as they become available.
