Jasper R-5 selects new Superintendent

The Jasper Board of Education selected Dr. Cindy Hansen as the next superintendent. She will officially begin her duties on July 1 of this year.

Dr. Hansen is currently a principal in Pine Island, Minnesota. She has 23 years of educational experience including 12 years as an administrator. She also teaches aspiring principals, superintendents, and special education directors in the doctoral program at Bethel University.

“Dr. Hansen’s experience as a principal and professor along with her leadership skills were selling points for the school board,” said Board of Education President Andy Neher.

“In addition, the board believes that Dr. Hansen is going to be a positive addition to our belief of doing what is best for our students, and a confident next step in leading our district. Dr. Hansen was the right choice for our staff and our constituents, and she’s going to be a great communicator about all the positive things we have going on here at Jasper. We’re excited to have her!”

Dr. Hansen earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northwestern St. Paul, her Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois Springfield, and her Doctoral Degree from Bethel University.

“I am honored to be selected as the new superintendent of the Jasper R-V School District,” said Dr. Hansen. “Jasper R-V is the heartbeat of this community, and I take seriously the trust placed in me as Jasper’s next superintendent. I resonate strongly with Jasper’s vision of excellence, and I will work hard to ensure the school district continues to be a source of pride for all. I am excited about the future of Jasper R-V and look forward to serving our students, families, and staff.”
