INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital Auxiliary to host “Souper Bowl”
Free Health Fair and soup fundraiser
GROVE, Okla. – The INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital Auxiliary will host its annual “Souper Bowl” on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be held inside the main entrance of the hospital and includes free health screenings, local entertainment and door prize drawings.
As part of the festivities, an assortment of homemade soups by our volunteers will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For a $5 donation, attendees will receive a bowl of soup or four sample-size portions, a drink and dessert. Proceeds from the event will support hospital projects funded by the volunteers.
“Our volunteers are known as some of Grand Lake’s best chefs,” said Cathy Trewyn, director of Auxiliary Services at INTEGRIS Health Grove Hospital. “There are dozens of soup options to choose from including chicken noodle, corn chowder, taco soup, tomato basil, black bean, clam chowder, pasta fagioli and several versions of chili, just to name a few.”
Attendees can also take advantage of several free screenings including bone density, EKG, peripheral artery disease screening, heart rate, oxygen saturation, height, weight and body mass index (BMI). Additionally, the first 200 guests can receive free cholesterol and glucose testing. HeartScans will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis for $50.
“We encourage our community to come out and take advantage of the free screenings,” Trewyn added. “There will be hospital departments showcasing their services, local entertainment and door prize drawings, so this event is fun for the entire family.”
