Body found this morning in Noel; remains discovered at site of fire near city

NOEL, Mo. – A fire in a shed near Noel in McDonald County early this morning resulted in the discovery of a body by firefighters.

Just before 7 a.m., Noel Deputy Marshals were notified about a shed fire on North Kings Highway near Noel.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

When they arrived,  the shed was fully engulfed in flames

They immediately began trying to put the fire out.

In the process of doing so, the body was discovered.

At this time, the name of the deceased person has not yet been released.

An autopsy will be conducted later this week, according to a Noel Marshal’s office Facebook post.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office.
