Events and activities happening in Joplin!

Joplin Arts & Culture has a myriad of events happening next month, including:

February 3–5: Don’t Drink the Water, 6:30pm (Sunday 1:00pm) at Stone’s Throw Dinner Theatre (2466 Old 66 Blvd, Carthage, MO). Stone’s Throw Dinner Theatre proudly presents Woody Allen’s Don’t Drink the Water! A cascade of comedy and a solid hit on Broadway, this play takes place inside an American embassy behind the Iron Curtain. An American tourist – a caterer by trade – and his wife and daughter rush into the embassy two steps ahead of the police who suspect them of spying and picture-taking. It’s not much of a refuge, for the ambassador is absent and his son, now in charge, has been expelled from a dozen countries and the continent of Africa. Nevertheless, they carefully and frantically plot their escape, and the ambassador’s son and the caterer’s daughter even have time to fall in love. Reservations are required which you can make if you call (417) 358-9665 or email stdinnertheatre@gmail.com. Tickets: Adults $29, Seniors (55+) $26, Students $24, Youth $23, Children (6-12) $12, Children (0-5) free.
