State Fire Marshall Cautions Safety As Bitter Cold Grips Missouri This Week
With the bitter cold weather that Missouri is going to be experiencing later this week, the Missouri State Fire Marshal is urging residents to practice extra caution heating their homes.
State Fire Marshal Tim Bean says… “The names are space heaters. They are not designed to heat entire large rooms, for smaller rooms they are just to get the chill out”
Winds could gust as high as 50 mph on Friday, which could make dangerously cold wind chills.
Wind chills nearly 40 below zero are possible later this week.
As a result, frostbite on exposed skin can happen in under ten minutes.
