Former Library on Main Street for sale by City of Joplin

The City of Joplin continues its efforts to sell the now-vacant former Joplin Public Library at 302 N. Main Street in the city.

The Library moved to a new location on 20th Street several years after the 2011 Joplin tornado.

As part of its effort to sell the library, the City will sponsor a walkthrough of the building at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

A sealed bid process is asking for responses no later than February 1, 2023. The City would like to know the offered price and if possible buyers want any incentives from the city.

Those responding might also be asked to take part in a 15-minute interview with the Joplin City Council
