An Oronogo Bust Puts a Man Behind Bars for Truck Theft and Drugs
A stolen truck and several other stolen items have been recovered and the crook is behind bars thanks to the Oronogo Police department and other area law enforcement agencies.
Yesterday, an office on patrol noticed a truck that had been reported stolen out of Joplin earlier in the week at a home on Weebwood Drive. After a call out to JPD and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, they started the search. The officers turned up stolen property, including drivers licenses and credit cards, meth, and a meth lab.
Arrested at the scene were 37-year-old Billy Joseph Coleman of Webb City and 49-year-old Cathy R. Brookshire of CJ.
Coleman is charged with tampering, trafficking in stolen identities, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brookshire was released pending the filing of formal charges of tampering. The two could also still be facing charges from the other area agencies involved in the bust.
