Intoxicated Tyson CFO falls asleep in stranger’s home; placed under arrest
John R. Tyson, the Chief Financial Officer of Tyson Foods, was placed under arrest early Sunday in Fayetteville after he reportedly became intoxicated and fell asleep in a stranger’s home.
Tyson was taken to the Washington County jail.
He was released Sunday evening.
A preliminary arrest report says a woman called the police when she found the 32-year-old Tyson, who she’d never met, asleep in her bed, evidently having gained entry through an unlocked back door.
Police say they tried to wake Tyson up and talk to him but he was unable to respond.
He reportedly had an odor of alcohol on his breath.
Tyson was just appointed to the CFO position in early October.
His father, John H. Tyson, is the chairman of the board of Tyson Foods.
John R. Tyson, according to the Tyson Foods website, has a Bachelors’ Degree in Economics from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
He previously worked in investment banking for J.P. Morgan and as a private equity and venture capital investor.
