An attempt to legalize sports betting heads back to the Missouri Capitol next week.
A bill that would make sports wagering legal in Missouri is back on the table.
A Missouri House committee is holding a public hearing Monday about a bill that would let Missourians 21 years and older place bets on sporting events.
Proceeds from tax revenue would go to education.
State Representative Dan Houx, a Republican from Warrensburg, is sponsoring the bill.
Lawmakers are working to pass an income tax cut plan but the sports betting bill is not part of the governor’s special session call. Whether it gets added is unknown at this time.
