Weir residents asked to conserve on water until line can be fixed
Residents of one southeast Kansas community are being asked to use as little water as possible until a broken water line is repaired
Weir, Kansas mayor John Tavernaro says Bone Creek, the community’s water supplier, had to shut off water following a break over the weekend.
“We just want people to conserve on water, not to water gardens or do laundry or things like that,” Mayor Tavernaro says.
“Our water is safe. I just don’t want to use water needlessly and run the tower out,” he adds.
He says the city’s tower contains about 12 feet of water.
Tavernaro says he expects the repair to be made sometime Monday after a rock driller can be used to reach the break and repairs can be made.
